About
Pony Heart Sanctuary is set on 15 intentionally developed acres in Fletcher, North Carolina, with expansive views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and forest trails that invite visitors to slow down and reconnect with nature. Our relationship with this land began in 1997, when the property was purchased, and in 2001 we began actively developing what would become Blue Ridge Welsh Pony Farm, LLC, thoughtfully designing the layout and facilities to support a purpose-built Welsh pony breeding and training program. For more than 25 years, we intentionally bred, raised, and developed registered Welsh ponies that were widely loved within the equestrian community and consistently successful in the show ring, earning numerous national titles. Today, several original broodmares and retired show ponies remain here, allowing their legacy to continue through Pony Heart Sanctuary—the next chapter on this land, expanding its purpose from production and competition into public-facing experiences rooted in stewardship, education, and meaningful connection.

Mission
Our mission is to provide gentle, guided pony and nature experiences that nurture confidence, empathy, and curiosity in children and adults. Through hands-on, respectful interactions with ponies, we promote compassionate equine care while offering opportunities for learning, emotional growth, and connection in a natural setting. Pony Heart Sanctuary exists to create meaningful moments—where people of all ages can engage with animals and the land in ways that feel safe, grounding, and restorative.
Vision
Our vision is to watch individuals and families grow through consistent, meaningful interactions with ponies in ways that other experiences often cannot provide. Ponies offer the presence and magic of horses in a smaller, more approachable form, creating a welcoming environment for reflection, learning, and growth. Through long-term stewardship of our land and animals, Pony Heart Sanctuary aims to be a place people return to throughout their lives—finding calm, confidence, and renewed perspective through nature-based experiences that encourage connection, responsibility, and wonder.
Come, enjoy the view!
